Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. Only people injured at work who are seeking to have their treatment paid for under the workcover or EPC scheme need a Doctor’s referral.
At times, we will ask you to consult with a GP for investigations and medications based on our assessments.
Can I use my private health insurance to claim part of the cost of my treatment?
Yes. We use the Hicaps system which means that you will pay the gap after your health insurance rebate.
Make sure you bring your card on the day of treatment.
Can I claim under Medicare?
Medicare introduced a system known as EPC (EnhancedPrimary Care) which pays for 5 physio sessions in a calendar year for people who have a chronic condition of greater than 6 month’s duration.
This requires a specific GP referral form ( item 721 and 723).
We do ask for a small patient contribution of $10 towards each appointment.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
We request that 3 hours notice is provided so that we may offer the appointment to another person. Failure to do so may result in a $40 fee.
A very easy and convenient cancellation link is within your appointment confirmation email.
How long is an appointment?
Our appointments are 30 minutes.
Do you run on time?
Yes. In line with our clients’ wishes we aim to never keep anyone waiting more than 5 minutes. To assist us in this we ask that our clients are punctual.
I have 2 problems- can you help with 2 things at 1 appointment?
Yes and the fee doesn’t increase but we do ask that you communicate this at the beginning of the appointment so that we can plan the time.
If the issues are complicated, we may ask you to prioritise which area we mainly focus on for that appointment.
How many appointments will I need?
After assessing your injury your physio will outline the expected recovery time frame and ask you about your goals and expectations.
We will always give you self-help activities, exercises and stretches so that you can get better as quickly as possible at minimum cost to you.
